It's was almost 16 months since the last gathering in Rochester, so we figured it was time to do it again. We planned on meeting at the Macaroni Grill in Henrettia for a nice casual dinner and a good time. Unfortunately, 'someone' forgot to make reservations, and we could not get a table. (Imagine not providing a table to a group of 50 year old high school classmates from some small town 60 miles away. What gall!!) So we headed across the street to Bugaboo Creek Regretabliy, me missed Pam and Joe Wignet who were already inside.... While they had a nice dinner away from their kids, we agonized over the mistake.
As would be expected, we all told stories and downed the required beers/soda/water and ordered our food. Now Cheryl Hallman has been known to talk a little down about our mid-state alumni, but I have to tell you, they were all very nice. Sharon Lowry Lally promised to say hello to her Mom for me, Sally Murto did not complain when I stepped on her foot and such... and Steve Deal did not appear to have any difficulty at all navigating among the various eating utensils. Norm Shueckler, resident of one of our less populated counties in central New York wore matching shoes AND socks.
Needless to say, we all had a great time and left a nice tip since we hung out a long time at the restaurant. A few weeks later Julie and I were back in town and had a make up dinner with Pam and Joe. They were very polite and both claimed that they took no offense at us missing them earlier. So, Cheryl Suess Hallman...(resident of Clarence...), we think you should think twice before you slam those nice out of town classmates!
