What a wild town Rochester is! Last minute scheduling and the holiday crush limited attendance at this action packed adventure along the shores of Lake Ontario. However, as Cathy Lofgren can attest, the brochette was fantastic and the tales were fascinating. Steve and Julia Deal joined Cathy, Julie and me for a great evening at the Macaroni Grill in Henrettia. Even early on the conversation managed to keep going without me resorting to any of my off-color humor. Then things really got going when we started swapping stories about almost everyone that was not there. (not really)
Interestingly, four out of five of us at the table were current or past software developers. For those of you that are not "into computers", you can imagine what an interesting evening the one "banking professional" among us had with a bunch of "bit-heads"! We actually had to ask the waitress to come back to take our order because we were tied up with an discussion of SQL and comparing the merits of different ERP applications. (I finally settled on the lobster ravioli in case you were interested).
In the end, I can tell you that we all thoroughly enjoyed the time together. We are definitely planing on getting the Rochester crew together again we we're in town again. And, the following morning Julie and I had a great brunch at the home of our son and daughter-in-law. Joined by our daughter, we had waffles with pecans, sliced bananas and maple syrup, bacon and plenty of coffee. What A weekend!
